What are the main differences between solar floodlights and solar spotlights?

Solar floodlights and solar spotlights are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, with a variety of installation methods. They are widely used for outdoor lighting. Some people who are unfamiliar with these two types of lighting often confuse them when using them. Below is a brief explanation of the differences between solar floodlights and solar spotlights.

1. Distinct Features.

Both Solar Floodlights and Solar Spotlights have two distinct features. Solar floodlights shed light diffusely at a set location and in two or three dimensional space. Solar spotlights are concentrative and are capable of being directed or focused. They are referred to as projection spotlights or simply as spotlights.

2. Different Use Cases.

Offer predictability in illumination to users and thus are appropriate in to outdoor illumination of grass and trees, sculptures and monuments, as well as flower beds. Floodlights are also appropriate in illumination of highways, squares, billboards, gardens, garages and also doorways.

3. Different Methods of Projecting Light.

Flood lights are equipped with a piece of equipment that is capable of projecting light in a spherical manner. Light is received from all angles and is referred to as diffused light. Solar spotlights use spherical receivers and are also referred to as flood solar lights. However, these spotlights use a form of projection termed as directional illumination.

4. Different Adjustable Illumination Angles.

The use of solar floodlights mainly lies in providing decorative architectural lighting as well as illuminating commercial spaces. The solar floodlights use decorative lighting and can be set to almost any angle. The range of adjustability is within 180°. On the other hand, floodlights have the ability to adjust the angle of illumination, but the range of lighting is set and radiates outwards and centered from the fixture.

With the development of technology, Solar spotlights  and solar powered LED floodlights no longer serve the purpose of simple lighting with a single control function. They have been incorporated with smart control features enabling mobile phone control. They also support Bluetooth MES networking, have dimming, timing, and scene-setting control, and smart lighting integrates new energy and intelligent lighting control.
